David Stacey

Associate Director

I’m an associate director specialising in internal audit within financial services, including business, operational, and IT audit. I work primarily with insurers, banks, asset and wealth managers, as well as brokers, fintechs and financial markets infrastructure firms.

I support entry-level internal audit professionals through to global heads. My main responsibility is helping auditors find new opportunities within a vast marketplace of potential employers and to support those employers with their business objectives in sourcing high-quality talent with the right skills, experience and character to be successful in their departments.

Providing honest consultancy to both our candidates and clients is key. For clients, it’s how they can structure their recruitment in order to have the best chance of attracting the right people and for candidates, it’s how to market themselves effectively and how to make successful applications and interview to the best of their ability.

Starting my recruitment career in 2005 in one fairly narrow marketplace, I’m able to provide information and advice to both my candidates and clients, which will help them with the recruitment process. That may be providing my clients with market information, competitor analysis and salary data or providing candidates with information on specific organisations, teams or hiring managers to help them build a picture of the right place to work.

My clients benefit additionally from my experience of managing the interview and offer process for them, and my candidates will have access to advice on interview techniques, offer negotiation, as well as practical and emotional support throughout the recruitment lifecycle.

I operate with a high degree of integrity at all times and am focused on the long-term goal, and I’ve found that always striving to do the right thing has the effect of separating distinguishing you from the crowd.

I am a people person, and recruitment puts you in touch every day with diverse and interesting characters from all over the world. I am also someone who looks at the end result of what you spend your days working hard at.

What does being an opportunity maker mean to you? Being an opportunity maker means being commercially savvy. Being able to spot opportunities where your expertise can add value to a recruitment process and being able to convince others of that. It may be leveraging relationships to open up a new client or vacancy, or it may be headhunting a passive candidate.

What Eames value resonates with you the most and why? Professional Expertise. In modern agency recruitment, you cease to be relevant unless you add real value to the process. Expertise is at the heart of why our customers engage with us and gives us a competitive edge.
