Cloudera Database Administrator

We are currently engaged with our client who is a well established organisation in Singapore to hire a Senior Cloudera Database Administrator. This position involves managing Cloudera CDP 7.x clusters, performing daily operations, ensuring high availability, and providing technical support. It also includes security configuration, backup, recovery, and maintaining system documentation.

 

Key Requirements:

• Education: Diploma/Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

• Plan, install, configure, and manage Cloudera CDP 7.x clusters.
• Configure security and governance protocols.
• Monitor cluster performance and ensure system availability.
• Develop and maintain Hadoop documentation for configurations and processes.
• Perform backup, recovery, and general cluster maintenance.
• Provide technical support to users.

 

Required Skills:

• Familiarity with Cloudera CDP runtime components.
• Linux system administration and shell scripting proficiency.
• Understanding of authentication protocols like Kerberos and LDAP.
• Database administration experience (MySQL/PostgreSQL).

 

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Cloudera Data Services.
• Experience with Python and managing Python environments.
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes.
