Global Investment Bank is currently searching for a Equities Valuation controller to join their Paris office. This is a newly created role and is an ideal opportunity to gain or build on your in-depth understanding of equity financial products, market risk profile and risk mitigation techniques and strategies within a growing strategic location for the bank.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing Valuation Control execution & documentation, including Independent Price Verification, Fair Value Hierarchy categorisation & Prudent Valuation reporting
- Reviewing daily/monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
- Work closely with other stakeholders in the Finance, Valuations Methodology and Infrastructure teams,
- Ensure that the bank has a consistent valuations framework that meets requirements, internal and external, providing effective balance sheet control
- Provide financial insight and partner with front office traders to optimise business performance.
- Coordinating management and regulatory business initiatives to ensure the bank has cross region and cross line of business consistencies
- Ad-hoc project work to drive efficiency and enhancement.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a Finance function within an investment bank with a good understanding of Global Market products (ideally Equities)
- Candidates from a consultancy firm, with a background in auditing financial institutions will also be considered
- Bachelor's Degree, in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
- Good accounting knowledge, ideally with comfort in both financial accounting and regulatory reporting concepts, with strong attention to detail & emphasis on documentation
- Good understanding and applies knowledge of financial concepts, principles, products, and other relevant financial information.
