Global Investment Bank is current looking for a fluent French valuation control specialist to join their Paris team. This is newly created role and will involve building out and leading a team of valuation controllers over the next 12-18 months.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight and performing the calculation and analysis of valuation controls including IPV, valuation adjustments and prudent valuation adjustments, as well as ownership for quarterly disclosures.
- Working with the valuation methodology team to ensure ongoing review & enhancement of valuation control methodologies and practices. Ensuring procedure documents are accurate and up to date.
- Key role in the streamlining and enhancement of all valuation control processes and becoming actively involved with system development ranging from technical enhancements and new product releases to automation of existing processes.
- Leading business forecast routines and new product reviews.
- Engaging with the Accounting Policy Group to implement appropriate accounting policies and procedures.
- Contributing to governance process, operational error reporting and support of other internal control process, including SOX
- Performing supervisory review over work performed by the offshore product control team
Requirements:
- Extensive Valuation Control/IPV experience from Investment Banking.
- Strong knowledge of Interest Rates Derivatives Valuations
- Understands complex non-Linear products and their valuations
- Proven experience of stakeholder manager for Front office traders.
- Track record in providing innovative process improvements across valuation control process
- CFA/MSc Qualified or Equivalent - highly preferred
- Capable of devising valuation methodologies and automate using various tech tools
- Experience of managing a small to medium sized team
- Fluent French speaker
