Claims Adjuster

Eames Consulting is working with a multinational insurer looking to bring on a Claims Adjuster in the New York metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service to both external and internal customers.
• Manages, investigates, and resolves auto, premises and commercial liability claims in a timely manner.
• Investigates, reviews, and evaluates coverage, liability, damages, and settles claims within prescribed authority levels.
• Secures necessary information (contracts, agreements, releases, statements or other documents) to assist in the investigation of claims.
• Responsible for managing complex auto litigation, maintaining cost controls, overseeing the work of outside counsel, and development of litigation strategy in consultation with counsel. Able to provide support for legal counsel as needed and closely work with defense counsel to ensure proactive handling on all litigated matters.
• Establishes and maintains timely and appropriate loss reserves and expense budgets.
• Ensures compliance of claims handling pursuant to all state, legal, statutory and regulatory bodies to comply with all company procedures and requirements.
• Handles assigned claims following company guidelines with a minimal amount of supervision.
• Acquires and maintains applicable adjuster licenses in all states where required.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, and two to four years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient on database software, internet software, spreadsheet software and word processing software.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
