Job Title: Senior Underwriter - Casualty Treaty
Company Overview: A well-established insurance company with a strong presence in Europe, specialising in various property and casualty lines. The team in Zurich consists of dedicated professionals, half of whom are underwriters. They are currently in growth mode, working closely with clients to expand the range of products.
Role Overview: The client is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to take over the French market portfolio. This role requires a highly skilled individual who can work independently, manage their own pricing, and engage directly with clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for a large book of casualty treaty business, but will also have exposure to property and specialty lines classes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow the French market portfolio.
- Conduct independent underwriting and pricing.
- Engage with clients to discuss business and develop relationships.
- Collaborate with colleagues in property and other specialty lines.
- Participate in peer reviews and adhere to the four-eyes process.
- Work alongside a small team, including 3 senior underwriters and 1 assistant underwriter.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in underwriting, particularly in the French market.
- Fluent French is required.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present business cases to clients.
- Familiarity with MTPL, PA, and other casualty lines.
- European market experience is essential.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset.
