Portfolio Underwriter

Our client is hiring a Portfolio Underwriter to target and develop capacity agreements to support broking partners. The role will combine strategy, risk assessment, and portfolio management to write multi-line insurance business. The role is likely to suit a candidate with experience of managing Lloyd's binders. Most of the business is expected to be casualty based but it will be esoteric and could include client treaties containing insurance or reinsurance (broker facilities), algorithmic fast follow lines, new product lines, consortia agreements and any other opportunities that may not fall into a "traditional" class of business. You will need to be analytical to assess / monitor risks and manage portfolio performance. You will ideally have a good understanding of underwriting across multiple lines of business and strong London market relationships. Reinsurance knowledge and product innovation experience is also beneficial.
